THREE ARRESTS MADE AS GMP DEPLOYS LIVE FACIAL RECOGNITION VAN IN PICCADILLY GARDENS

Greater Manchester Police officers have been carrying out proactive policing activity in and around Piccadilly Gardens, with the Live Facial Recognition Van deployed in the area.

The deployment forms part of ongoing efforts to identify wanted individuals and support officers in tackling crime and disorder across Manchester city centre.

During the operation, officers made a number of arrests:

👮 PC 09379 Simm arrested a male who was identified as being wanted for Recall to Prison.

👮 PC 09034 Lomax arrested a male who was showing as wanted in connection with a Robbery in Ashton.

👮 PC 04487 Duffy arrested a male who was wanted for breaching his sex offender registration requirements.

These arrests highlight the importance of proactive policing, intelligence-led patrols and the use of policing technology to identify and locate individuals who are wanted by the authorities.

The deployment of the Live Facial Recognition Van provides officers with an additional policing tool, supporting officers in identifying individuals who may be wanted or subject to outstanding matters.

With a visible policing presence continuing in Piccadilly Gardens and surrounding areas, GMP officers are continuing to take action against those wanted by the courts and police.
